On August 18, 2026, the Building and Service Division, General Administration Division, Office of the President, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU), organized the “Run Hide Fight: Active Shooter Response Training Program” for Fiscal Year 2026. The training aimed to enhance university personnel’s knowledge, understanding, and essential survival skills for responding to emergency situations involving an active shooter, while raising safety awareness and strengthening preparedness for potential emergencies. The training was held at the Sunandhanusorn Auditorium, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, with distinguished trainers from Samsen Police Station, including Pol.Maj. Thiraphon Sonsaad, Pol.Sgt. Chayataw Timee, Pol.Cpl. Tulayarat Saensoem, Pol.Cpl. Phaitoon Jantanakhet, Pol.Cpl. Thotsayothin Ritbamrung, and Pol.Cpl. Thaksin Madhongsa.
The trainers provided practical knowledge on the Run Hide Fight principles, situational assessment, identifying appropriate escape routes, locating safe areas, and responding appropriately to an active shooter incident. Participants also took part in simulated emergency response exercises and were introduced to evacuation and escape plans designed specifically for active shooter situations. The training emphasized the importance of remaining aware, making informed decisions, and responding appropriately according to the circumstances.
The training reflects SSRU’s commitment to fostering a safe, resilient, and sustainable university environment. It is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, through promoting personal safety and reducing risks associated with emergency situations; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by contributing to the development of safe and resilient environments with greater preparedness for disasters and emergencies; and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, through strengthening collaboration between the university and government agencies to enhance systematic security measures and emergency management.
